NOMINATIONS FOR 2018 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Members in good standing are encouraged to declare their candidacy for election to the Board of Directors. The term of office is for three consecutive years commencing with the Annual General Membership Meeting in June 2018.

THE NOMINATION PROCESS WILL BE OPEN FROM:

FRIDAY, MARCH 2, 2018

CLOSING ON

FRIDAY, MARCH 16 2018 at 3:30 P.M.

Nomination Forms and a package of information will be available at the Reception Desk from March 2 to March 16, 2018. Forms must be fully completed and returned to the Reception Desk before the nomination period deadline.

Members of the Board of Directors are voted in by the membership and their election confirmed by the membership at the Annual General Membership Meeting in June of each year.

In accordance with By-law 1.03.02(b), the following THREE Directors will have completed their term of office at the Annual General Membership Meeting. Those positions are now declared open to the election process.

SYLVIA GILCHRIST, CAROL HEDENBERG, JOHN LAYTON

Sylvia Gilchrist and John Layton are eligible to stand for re-election. By-law 1.03.02(d) does not permit Carol Hedenberg to stand for re-election.

All Aurora Seniors Association members in good standing are encouraged to take an active role in the Nomination of candidates for your Board of Directors and by voting on the following days:

ADVANCE VOTING: Tuesday, April 24, 2018

VOTING: Friday, May 4 to Thursday, May 10, 2018 inclusive

VOLUNTEERS will be needed to assist with the balloting and voting process. Any member that is able to volunteer for a 3 hour shift in the morning or afternoon on any of the polling dates can select a day and shift from the schedule at the Front Reception desk. The morning schedule is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the afternoon schedule is from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. There are 24 shifts in total so please if you are able, volunteer.

The dates are: April 24, May 4 and May 7 to May 10 inclusive.

Aurora Seniors Centre

The Aurora Seniors Centre is operated in partnership with the Town of Aurora's Community Services Department. Its success is based on the Seniors who volunteer their time and Town of Aurora staff. Our goal is to provide programs, events and activities that will benefit and enrich the lives of older adults.
